FILMMAKING
The Filmmaking program is a progressive and comprehensive curriculum that offer introductory through advanced filmmaking. The program focuses on the fundamentals of filmmaking technique, with emphasis placed on the pre-production process, executing a wellconceived plan, visual storytelling, and artistic style. Students use the same state-of-the-art equipment as the pros, including Panasonic DVX-100 cameras, Sennheiser microphones, Arri and Lowel lights and Final Cut Express software. Students work in a hands-on environment to develop their skills in, and understanding of, the pre-production/ production process and post-production editing techniques.
Students in intermediate and advanced classes work as an ensemble to create a short film from the planning and pre-production stages through production and editing. Advanced students engage in yearlong projects in the Conservatory or Independent Study programs.
In addition, Imagination Stage offers skill-based, digital media classes in computer animation, digital imaging, stop-motion animation, and documentary filmmaking.
