Welcome!
from David Markey, Director of Theatre Education
Dear Imagination Stage families and friends,
Welcome to what promises to be a fun, art-filled new school year at Imagination Stage! Imagination Stage’s reputation for high-quality, substantive programming has garnered much visibility on the regional and national theatre education scene.
The work we do with young theatre artists is process- or skill-driven in nature. Our mission is to foster the cognitive and creative development in each child. Our students gain a wealth of creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to engage with the world in a positive productive way.
Our dedication to our students and educational mission extends beyond the classroom.
- Mentors are available to give guidance on appropriate courses of study. You are encouraged to contact them should you have questions regarding specific course content and objectives.
- Individual end-of-semester assessments give guidance for future courses of study.
- Our Teacher-Artists have several days of professional development to clarify programmatic and curricular goals. They share exercises and experiences and the excitement of a new semester beginning.
I would encourage you, as parents, to become an active part of your child’s experience at Imagination Stage. Observation days and sharings are an opportunity to see and participate in your child’s class.
On behalf of the staff, faculty and Board of Trustees of Imagination Stage, I thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
David Markey, Director of Theatre Education
