$260,000 goal surpassed!
“Anything’s Possible,” the Imagination Stage Gala, took place on Saturday, October 22. Chaired by Rebecca and Richard Kay, it was a magical evening, featuring an original musical show which combined many voices, talents and images to paint a vivid picture of Imagination Stage’s mission, community and work.

Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace, is greeted by Billy Campbell, President of Discovery's U.S. Networks, and Bonnie Fogel, Imagination Stage Founder and Executive Director. Mr. Campbell presented the 2005 Discovery and Imagination Award to Dr. Goodall during the "Anything's Possible" presentation in the Lerner Family Theatre.
The third annual Discovery and Imagination Award was presented to Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace. Presented by Billy Campbell, President of Discovery’s U.S. Networks, the award honors Dr. Goodall’s extraordinary work as an educator and humanitarian. Dr. Goodall delivered a moving and inspiring acceptance speech to the 350-member audience and paid tribute to the work and people of Imagination Stage.
Over $285,000 was raised to support Imagination Stage’s theatre arts education programs and productions, including the award-winning AccessAbility Theatre and Deaf Access programs.

Honorary co-chairs for the event were Illinois Senator Barack Obama and Maryland Lt. Governor Michael S. Steele. Several other elected officials were in attendance, including Senator Peter Franchot, Senator Ida Ruben, Delegate Bill Bronrott, Delegate Jane Lawton, Delegate Susan Lee, and Montgomery County Councilmembers Howard Denis and George Leventhal. Major sponsors of the event were Ridgewells Caterer, COMCAST, and Becky and Rick Kay.

Gala Co-Chairs, Rebecca and Richard Kay are congratulated by Imagination Stage Immediate Past President, Sally Romansky. The Kay's and the Gala Committee surpassed their fundraising goal of $260,000, and raised a record-breaking $285,000 to support Imagination Stage's nationally acclaimed theatre education programs for children and families.
