Based on the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, Oliver! is a touching tale of a young orphan boy in a large workhouse who draws a great deal of attention to himself when he asks for more at the dinner table. No one likes a greedy orphan, so Oliver finds himself sold to an undertaker. He runs away, and is taken in by a group of pickpockets who try to teach the innocent boy to be a thief. Eventually he escapes from the clutches of the crime ring and finds love, happiness, and a home. Oliver! is a classic musical with a large cast of fun characters, big dance numbers, and music that’s both catchy and haunting. Join us as we put the Imagination Stage stamp on this classic musical. Its challenging music and moments of both comedy and drama allow performers to utilize all aspects of their budding theatrical technique and will no doubt prove fun in the process!

Once Upon a Mattress
Performance August 12 or 13
This acclaimed musical comedy tells the real story of “The Princess and The Pea.” F ull of hilarious hi jinks, raucous plot twists and fun songs, this play emulates the celebrated musical theater style of the 1960’s. A not-so-heroic Prince Dauntless, a blabbermouth and over-bearing Queen, a mute King (if only because he can’t get a word in edgewise with his wife), a sidekick Wizard, a shy yet whimsical Princess, and a Minstrel who tells it like it really is are just a few of the many great characters in this popular show. You’ll never look at this fairy tale in quite the same way!
